Picking It Up

I bought the car from a gentlemen in Colorado Springs (about an hour and a half from our house).  My mom and dad happened to be in town the weekend I bought the car.  This worked out great because I was able to borrow a car trailer from a coworker and use my dad's diesel truck to tow it home.

Getting the car on the trailer was a bit of an experience.  After myself, my dad, and Manual (the seller) tried pushing the car up a hill and the trailer ramps and failing Manual brought out his four wheeler to pull the car onto the trailer.  It was a little sketchy but it worked, nobody got hurt, and nothing broke.

We got the car tied down and were on our way.  We made it back to the house almost without incident.  The engine was not physically bolted into the car but was sitting on a piece of wood in the engine compartment.  Unfortunately the wood broke and engine and components spilled out onto the trailer.  As far as we could tell, all parts were accounted for.  If anything was missing I have yet to notice.

So thanks to Dick for lending me the trailer and thanks to Dad for the use of his truck.  It's always fun picking up a new project and daydreaming about the possibilities of what it's going to become.
